by: Ma. Soledad Salazar
Raw juice therapy is method of treating diseases through extracting the juices from fresh fruits and vegetables, thereby making it an exclusive diet plan.
Juices from raw fruits and vegetables are extremely rich in vitamins and minerals that have beneficial effect in rejuvenating and normalizing all body functions.
Its alkaline effect lowers the blood cholesterol level and prevents premature aging of cells and tissues.
During this therapy, metabolic waste and toxins are quickly eliminated and the cleansing capacity of our organ (kidney, liver, lungs, etc.) greatly increased. So it affords a physiological rest to our body system and the full absorption of nutrients is vastly improved.
How to Prepare Raw Juice
Preferably, only fresh fruits and vegetables which are organically grown should be used. Canned and frozen juices are not advisable for its chemical (preservatives, flavoring, and coloring) content.
Immediately drink the juice or you risk loss of valuable nutrients particularly ascorbic acid and B vitamins. Maximum levels of nutrients are lost once it stays longer in the refrigerator.
